Cost Converter

Translators in different countries charge in very different ways, and comparing prices is therefore quite hard. This tool is designed to simplify such comparisons, primarily between Japanese and English. Please note that this form cannot update automatically with Netscape 4: but the correct result should be shown when you press Convert.

N.B. This page uses the following conventions which may be totally wrong in your particular case!

• 1 line = 40 characters (e.g. A4 paper) / 20 words
• 1 page = 400 characters (Japanese manuscript paper) / 200 words

Type of translation: E->J dense text: 1 word -> 2.5 characters E->J general text: 1 word -> 3 characters E->J trendy text: 1 word -> 3.5 characters J->E old text: 1.8 characters -> 1 word J->E general text: 2.2 characters -> 1 word J->E trendy text: 2.6 characters -> 1 word
