We have various resources in preparation, which will be uploaded here soon. Currently there are only a couple...
- Samples of Japanese text in 9 different formats, including EPS, TIFF and GIF (92K ZIP file)
- Bilingualizer -- an MS-Word macro which converts any document into a 'bilingual' one, with each paragraph split into source language and target language versions. A translator can overwrite the target language, while leaving the source language there to check (also as a form of translation memory). The source language is marked as "hidden" text so can be displayed or concealed at will, using the Tools -> Options -> View -> Hidden Text menus or the Un_Hide macro, so that the translator can review the translated version without being distracted by the original.
This is still a 'beta' version. It should not do any damage, but should only be used on files where you have a safe backup copy, just in case. With the current version, you need to enable Word macros (Tools -> Macro -> Security -> Medium level), and you can also only use the macro on this file -- but it is fine to overwrite the sample text with text from another file of your own (Cut & Paste), run the macro (Tools -> Macro -> Macros -> Bilingual), then Cut & Paste the bilingual version back to your own file.
Feedback, whether positive or negative, is most welcome... as are questions if you're not sure how to use it. The helpfile is the next project!
